Parent carers: An introduction to Guardianship and Power of Attorney (February)
Wed 12 February, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
This event is open to carers residing in or caring for a person in Edinburgh and Midlothian.
When: Wednesday 12 February, 10am – 11:30am.
About the event:
In Scotland, you can’t make decisions about health, welfare or finances, on behalf of a young person age 16 or over unless you’ve been given specific powers in law – even if you’re their parent. This workshop looks at ways to ensure you can still support the person you care for when they need it.
Delivered by:
Tracey Francis. Tracey is a Policy and Development Worker for ARC Scotland, and co-facilitates the Scottish Transitions Forum. She has worked for children’s and young people’s charities in Scotland for more than 20 years, specialising in the transition to adulthood of young people with additional support needs and its lasting impact on them and their families or carers. Tracey is the parent of a young autistic adult and is passionate about promoting inclusion and improving life choices for young people facing barriers to fulfilling their potential.
