About the event: 

Join our Pilates instructor Janine, who uses the original principles of Pilates. You will have the opportunity to lengthen and strengthen your body using gentle, mat-based exercises suitable for all levels. Modifications for exercises will be given.

This is a course of 3 sessions, taking place every 2 weeks. Enjoy Pilates from the comfort of your own home. All you need is your own mat (such as a yoga mat), a blanket and a small pillow/cushion for comfort. If you prefer to sit, please have a comfy cushion or pillow.

About the event: Are you caring for someone who uses alcohol or drugs? This session will explore the unique needs of carers in this caring situation and the types of support available to you.

Caring for someone who is using alcohol and drugs can be challenging and isolating. Sometimes it’s hard to find and speak to the right professionals. This session will explore the types of support we, at Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs, think can help. We will also take a look at the ways in which you should be included in the care of your loved one, your rights as a carer, and what to do it these rights are being breached. Daryl will be on hand to answer any of your questions.

About the event: Enjoy the benefits of walking and meet other carers while exploring the Royal Botanic Gardens. Our walks are gentle and a great opportunity to get some fresh air and a little bit of time out!

About the event: 

Join our wonderful artist Juliana from Art in Healthcare who will guide the group through six monthly sessions. This course will be online. No previous experience is needed, and all materials are provided.

This course is a great opportunity for you to have some time to yourself and find your inner creative spirit.

Join us for a discussion about all things books. In this session, we will discuss Small Pleasures by Clare Chambers.

By attending the event, carers will:

  • Have an opportunity to meet others who enjoy reading
  • Explore different books that you may not have considered reading before
  • Hear other people’s thoughts about the book we read, to gain new perspectives and ideas

About the event: Pension Age Disability Payment (PADP) is a new benefit from Social Security Scotland. It is replacing Attendance Allowance for people of pension age who have a disability or long-term health condition. This workshop aims to help anyone who intends to complete a PADP form for themselves or someone else.
